Counter (-) explores the political aspects of individual and collective interventions on the electricity system of Greece. It consists of a series of interviews of individuals and groups from different ideological and social backgrounds who practice techniques of electricity theft in Athens.
The widespread practice of said techniques is associated partially with the current billing growth and, the economic crisis of recent years, while, the motivations of each individual or group of practitioners vary from economic need to conscious political action and from mere opportunism to a gesture of solidarity.
Since said practices are illegal, in favour of the concealment of their identities, respondents appear disguised with objects representative to their ideology or social identity. Their disguises are being elaborated as techniques of self-representation and are discussed during the interviews along with topics concerning technical and political aspects of the practice.
